Trust

Trust

Trust is a funny thing. Typically, once it is broken, it either never returns or it is never the same. Most people give trust freely (a small/general amount), and then it builds in time.

When we give someone trust, you are trusting them with your heart in a general sense. You are trusting that they will treat you right, they will not betray you in any way or hurt you in any way. But we forget that people are not perfect, we all make mistakes. I think that some are simply easier to forgive than others.

There is a level of betrayal that is very hard to forgive and let go of, especially when you still care about that person. You don’t want to hold onto the pain but you struggle to forget what you once felt. Someone recently told me, don’t ask what you don’t want to know. Now we all know, if you go looking you’ll find it. I’m finding though that I need to be a bit more open- minded when it comes to relationships. Such as, conversations with the opposite sex sometimes bother me, more so because of lack of trust and not knowing that person’s intentions. But you may never know, which is where the trust comes in. You can’t say that a person you’re with is only ever aloud to talk to you or other friends of the same sex. And if you fully trust that person, this won’t be an issue.

Some people, women in particular don’t see anything wrong with having “trust issues.” They feel like they will meet someone who will knock down those barriers. But if you have trust issues, they stem from insecurities which means that nothing a person do will ever completely rid you of the lack of trust. They may gain a lot of it, but it will never completely be erased until your insecurities are gone. I know what I bring to the table, so trust me when I say I’m not afraid to eat alone. Be sure of yourself. Love yourself so much that it sets the tone for how others respect and love.

Trust = Faith

30 Day Blogging: Days Five & Six

30 Day Blogging: Days Five & Six

Geez I’m so bad with keeping up with this thing lol

Day Five: Your Proudest Moment

I must say thus far, my proudest moment was walking across that stage and receiving my Bachelor’s degree. College was such an amazing experience for me and I would do it all over again. There’s was never a doubt in my mind that I wouldn’t make it but still to graduate was a big accomplishment!
Day Six: What Are You Afraid Of

I’m afraid of not being loved back and getting cheated on, again. I love so hard and with everything in me. I give a lot of myself to the one who I love because I believe is us. And I am terrified that the love he says he has will turn out to be all a lie. That’s a heartbreak that I could not take… I’m vulnerable with him, trusting my heart in his hands and it absolutely terrifies me to let someone have that power to hurt me. But then have to trust him not to.

Day One: Your Blog’s Name

My blog’s name is “Growth: The Transformation”. I guess I’ll go a step further and say why I chose this name. I want to have less stress and more peace and that is exactly what my transformation is all about! I’m loving my progress so far.. I’m reading more, trying new things, taking on a more positive attitude and striving to reach my goal towards becoming a published author for poetry!

Crotchet Braids

Crotchet Braids

For this crotchet installation: I did Y-braids as base, except on her edges. We used Jamaican Bounce twist hair (3 & 1/2 packs). This was the first time I’ve dealt with this hair and I loved it! It was quick and easy to install on her head. I would guess that she should get a good 2-3 weeks wear out of this before the hair starts to mat and tangle.

The total install w/ braids took 2 & 1/2 hours. Another happy customer! 😁

Fitness Journey revamped

Fitness Journey revamped

I swear I have plateaued when it comes to losing weight. Probably because I don’t go hard enough lol but really, as of lately I just got lazy. So starting today, I will be walking 4 miles, and doing three 30-day challenges (abs, squats, arms) and will see what my results are weekly. Also, on Wednesdays I will be taking an hour “BUTI Yoga” fitness class – a combination of twerk fitness and yoga (all cardio).

I will make a point to take before picture of week one up to week four! Along with the workout, I will be eating healthy (no diet) and watching my carb intake. In addition, I take FitMiss supplements – burn, tone, cleanse, balance and protein shake.

Here it goes!

Baby Fever

Baby Fever

For the past 2 years, I swear I have had the worst baby fever ever! I don’t even think I would consider it baby fever.. I just want a baby. And at the young age of 25, I have been feeling ready. Not just for the baby but for it all, marriage and the baby carriage! I know that I have growing to do as a woman, especially when talking about becoming a wife. But I have wanted nothing more than to start a family.

Everyone tells me to wait and to do more. I have traveled a good bit but of course I want to do a lot more. And I would like to grow in my relationship as well. But really all I want in life is to be a mother and a wife. And I guess, in due time…

It’s funny though, I have 2 nieces and 1 nephew and when I watch them. I think I see how much I’m not ready lol. I love the baby/toddler stage but with them at ages 7, almost 6 and 4… They are independent and sassy and always arguing. That’s the part I’m not ready for! I’m probably really not ready for diapers and breast feeding yet either! Again, in due time…

Crotchet Braids – I do this!

Crotchet Braids – I do this!

I have been doing crotchet braids in my hair for a little over. A year now and I LOVE them! I went natural September 2014 and ever since then I have been doing my own hair.

This particular style, I used Kanakelon braiding hair 86in, color 27/30 blend ($6.00). I only needed one bag because the hair is about 3x longer than a regular pack. I then cut the hair into 4s. This helped to produce more hair. My braids are always straight back, Y-braids. This is the best way to get the natural part in the front without it going all the way back.

Once I completed the installation, I blow dried the hair – this gives it a straight silky look. I used a black spray hair dye to get the roots to blend better with my own. I dried the dye with the blow dryer for about a minute. I then cut the hair into the bob style – now this process took a little bit of patience. This was my first time trying to cut hair into this particular bob with straight hair on myself (I have cut others’ crotchets into cute bob styles).

Overall the installation only takes about 2-3 hours (with the braids, 4 hours). Cutting, blow dying and coloring took about 30mins-45mins due to me taking my time on the cut!

I do several crotchet styles on myself as well as others! I will continue to share!
