Gym vs Home Workouts

Gym vs Home Workouts

I can say from personal experience, I do seem to have more results when I go to the gym versus when I do home workouts. But I wonder why. I could partly say due to lack of consistency at home. But bigger than that, how is it, if I do the same exercises at home and the gym that I seem to get better results at the gym. Maybe I’m pushing myself more at the gym. Maybe it’s easier to just “stop” or half-ass it at home.

There is a huge convenience factor with working out at home. No waiting to use equipment, no wondering if others are watching, no distractions or intimidation from other people. But there are still distractions at home and it takes a strong willpower to be able to push past distractions at home. It’s a bit more difficult to just sit around being lazy in the gym. The environment just not provide that opportunity.

You ever feel like you’ve tried it all? Diets, fads and all sorts of different things. And then one day, someone says “Just go back to the gym”… pushing you to change your perspective. I used to be so gym faithful and I know that it worked for me. So we will see.. I clearly don’t have it all figured out, but I won’t stop.

Excuse or Reality?

I talk a lot about fitness and weight loss because it is one of my greatest desires and also one of my greatest struggles.

I know all about what to eat and not eat, getting enough sleep, etc. but when it comes to applying it, that’s where I hit a wall. It’s not that I love early badly, for the most part I eat well enough to maintain. Which, for a lot of people, would be a plus. But for me, I still want to lose more weight so it’s almost discouraging.

Then time seems to get away from me most days. So let’s say that I did eat healthy throughout the day and then I exercised after work.. by the time I shower, cook dinner and eat sometimes 8pm or later. So there goes eating early. Add to that, either watching tv or reading a book to wind down – I’m good to be in bed by 10pm. Hopefully sleep by 11pm, on a good night. And then 6:30am rolls right back around. I need help breaking this cycle!

Switch it Up

Switch it Up

I know we’ve all been there, where you get lazy and just can’t seem to bring yourself to workout. I mean you can’t lift a weight or nothing. So what do you do to motivate yourself to get back up?

For me, sometimes I’m able to just push myself because I haven’t reached my goal yet. Which btw, I really don’t have a weight goal so much.. just when I see it, I’ll know I’m there. Might sound crazy but since weight is carried so differently, it’s hard to put a number of it. With that being said, I know I still have a little ways to go. But lately I just haven’t been feeling exercise, especially after working all day.

So I decided to try something else. This morning I got up at 5:30am and I exercised! Felt good too, I must say. Now let’s just hope I can keep this up because I am so not the morning person! This was an accomplishment for me.

Fitness Journey revamped

Fitness Journey revamped

I swear I have plateaued when it comes to losing weight. Probably because I don’t go hard enough lol but really, as of lately I just got lazy. So starting today, I will be walking 4 miles, and doing three 30-day challenges (abs, squats, arms) and will see what my results are weekly. Also, on Wednesdays I will be taking an hour “BUTI Yoga” fitness class – a combination of twerk fitness and yoga (all cardio).

I will make a point to take before picture of week one up to week four! Along with the workout, I will be eating healthy (no diet) and watching my carb intake. In addition, I take FitMiss supplements – burn, tone, cleanse, balance and protein shake.

Here it goes!

Weight Loss – The Struggle is Real

Weight Loss – The Struggle is Real

So I think most women and maybe some men have this same struggle. I say women though because it seems like weight just melts off of men and then they build muscle so quickly. When I first started my weight loss journey, I lost 30lbs and I have successfully kept it off. I have come to love my body and my shape, but I could stand to lose another pound or 10… Hell 20 really! Diets just don’t work for me; I need more of a lifestyle change than a quick fix though. But when I tell you that eating healthy is a struggle!! I do well for a while and then all of a sudden I want a burger or better yet some Mexican food (it’s my favorite)! I recently got a FitBit to help motivate me to workout, now I just need to get the eating right together. I need help!
