Trying to live right
In the Lord’s eyes
With no guidance
Except an ancient Bible
Read in a modern time
Interpreted by a sinner’s mind
Not even sure if it’s being read right
Making the words fit my life
Have you ever heard God’s voice?
Loud and clear or quiet and low?
Making choices based on intuition
Gut feelings
And inner visions
Constantly praying to be forgiven
In fear of routine sinning
Yet, still striving to do the right thing
Because I’m just trying to make it to Heaven
